First Cymru Service Changes from 3 January 2012
56 (Bridgend - Brynteg School):
This schoolday service will be revised with most journeys running 5 minutes earlier.
400 (Gwaunmiskin - Beddau - Church Village - Cardiff):
The Monday to Saturday timetable will be revised from 3rd January 2012. The Sunday timetable will be unchanged.
Service X46 (Cardiff Airport - Cardiff) to be cancellend with effect from 12-Mar-2012
Cartel Travel Ltd have informed Vale of Glamorgan County Council that they will be ceasing to operate the X46 Cardiff Airport to Cardiff service from 12th March 2012
A/B/X Heath Hospital - Central Way at UHW to Close from 6 Nov 2011 for 2 years
Central Way at University Hospital of Wales (The Heath) will be closed from Sunday 6 November 2011 for a period of approximately two years.
As a result, buses travelling towards Cardiff will enter the hospital from Gabalfa and stop at The Gateway (near A & E). In this direction, the stop in Rhydhelig Avenue and all other stops at the hospital will not be served.
From Cardiff, the only stops served at the hospital will be The Gateway (opposite A & E, outside the car park) and at Academic Avenue near the Dental Hospital.
Gwynedd Service Changes from 30 Oct 2011 - 31 March 2012
Following an unavoidable re-tendering process caused in part by a decision by a company to surrender contracts, there will be changes to some bus services in the Meirionnydd area from Sunday, 30 October.
The new timetables have been drawn-up following consultation with the relevant local bus companies, and aim to make the best use of the available resources.
This is a difficult time for the public sector and, like a number of services, the budget to support local bus services is under considerable pressure. The Council would encourage local residents and visitors to make use of the available services to make them as sustainable as possible. Individuals who find that these changes affects them unduly should contact the Council on 01766 771000.
For details of the new times, please visit the Gwynedd Council website, www.gwynedd.gov.uk/publictransport where there is a full list of bus times. Information will also be available at bus stops throughout the county, or from our Journey Planner and Timetable pages.
The new timetables will be in place until 31 March 2012.
Swansea and Neath areas
12 (City Centre - Townhill Circular):
Revised Sunday timetable.
14 (City Centre - Pennard):
Timetable adjusted to improve reliability.
15 (City Centre - Gowerton):
The 0808 journey from Gorseinon will be retimed to depart at 0758 and will run earlier as far as Uplands, arriving in Swansea Bus Station at 0850.
17 (City Centre - Gowerton):
New timetable with the service reduced to hourly (but see service 404).
37 (City Centre - Oystermouth via Derwen Fawr):
New timetable and route as a consequence of local authority tender alteration. The service will now run via Owls Lodge Lane at Mayals. See service 43 for additional journeys via Derwen Fawr.
43 (City Centre - Morriston Hospital via Townhill and Blaen y Maes):
New timetable and route as a consequence of local authority tender alteration. The service will run via Saunders Way and Rhydydefaid Drive, clockwise on both outbound and inbound journeys.
44 (City Centre - Grenfell Park):
Extra running time added to improve reliability.
53 (City Centre - Maritime Quarter):
Revised timings on the Maritime Quarter section.
115, 116, 117, 118 ( City Centre to North and South Gower):
Timetables revised to improve reliability.
122/132 (Neath - Pontardawe):
Service 122 withdrawn and additional journeys introduced to service 132.
144/145 (City Centre - Morriston Hospital via Trallwn and Glais):
Revisions to intermediate timings.
158 (Swansea - Banwen):
Evening journey times adjusted for improved reliability
400/404 (Swansea - Llanelli via Pontarddulais):
Service 404 is extended to Swansea via the same route as service 400, partly to replace service 17.
Pontypridd Bus Station - Changes to Stand Allocation 31 October 2011
Due to an increase in frequency on the Locallink 106 service between Pontypridd and Old Ynysybwl / Buarth y Capel, service 107 (Pontypridd - Treforest, also operated by Locallink) will be moved from Stand 3 to Stand 4.
