Vale of Glamorgan
Following receipt of requests by customers, additional funds from the former Sully Hospital development (Hayes Point), and a subsequent review of Supported Local Bus Services 86, 87, 88 & 89, the service provision currently provided by these services will be totally re-scheduled with effect from Sunday 21st & 22nd March 2010 and operated by First Cymru. The revised schedules are attached and sumarised, as follows:
• Service 87/87A: (incorporating current Service 86): Providing new and revised service provision between Culverhouse Cross, Dinas Powys, Eastbrook, Penarth, Cogan, Llandough and Leckwith.
• Service 88: Providing new and revised hourly service provision between Barry, Bendrick, Sully, Penarth Esplanade, Penarth, Cogan, Merrie Harrier and Cowslip Estate.
• Service 89: (incorporating current Service 87): Providing new and revised hourly service provision between Dinas Powys, Eastbrook, Llandough, Penarth, Penarth Marina, Cardiff Bay Sports Village, Cardiff Bay and Cardiff Centre.
First Cymru Changes being made, effective as of 21st Feb 2010:
Swansea & Swansea Valley
4A/4B (Parc Gwernfadog to City Centre):
A revised daytime timetable providing a direct service from Parc Gwernfadog to the City Centre.
25 (Blaen y Maes to City Centre):
Monday to Friday off-peak frequencies are reduced to run every 15 minutes between approximately 0930 and 1530.
31 (Morriston Hospital to City Centre via Birchgrove):
Service rerouted via Swansea Enterprise Park.
31-33 (Trallwn to City Centre):
Monday to Friday off-peak frequencies are reduced to run every 15 minutes between approximately 0930 and 1530. Saturday frequencies reduced to every 20 minutes all day.
36 (Morriston to City Centre via Brynhyfryd):
Monday to Friday off-peak frequencies are reduced to run every 20 minutes between approximately 0930 and 1530.
X18 (Swansea to Rhossili):
Winter weekend service introduced.
X20 (Pontardawe to Swansea):
Additional commuter journeys from Pontardawe to Swansea at 0710 and 0810.
Neath Port Talbot
9 (Fairfield to Morrisons/Health Centre):
Service withdrawn.
59 (Neath to Swansea):
Minor route alteration to run via Birchgrove Roundabout.
X5 (Neath to Swansea):
Additional weekday afternoon journey to Swansea at 1905.
X1 (Bridgend to Swansea):
Additional journey from Bridgend to Port Talbot at 2120.
X3 (Maesteg to Swansea):
Hourly through service to Swansea reinstated.
X4 (Port Talbot to Neath):
The 0830 journey from Port Talbot to Neath is withdrawn.
Bridgend
62 (Pencoed to Bridgend):
Two additional journeys from Bridgend to Pencoed at 1745 and 1845 and return. All inbound journeys to Bridgend will run via Cheapside (Asda).
63B (Bridgend to Porthcawl via Aberkenfig):
New hourly service running via Mawdlam.
224 (Porthcawl to Swansea):
Additional afternoon journeys from Porthcawl to Sandfields at 1830, 1930 and 2030.
X1 (Bridgend to Swansea):
Additional journey from Bridgend to Port Talbot at 2120.
X3 (Maesteg to Swansea):
Hourly through service to Swansea reinstated.
West Wales
110-112 (Llanelli to Swansea):
Off peak and Saturday frequencies reduced to run every 20 minutes.
124 (Brynamman to Ammanford):
Daytime journeys retimed to improve connections with service X13 at Ammanford. Additional journey at 1430 and renumbering of former X14/X15 journeys between Ammanford and Brynamman.
X13, X14, X15 (Swansea to Ammanford/Brynamman):
Ammanford to Brynamman journeys renumbered to form revised service 124.
