A new double decker comes to town!

As from the beginning of September 2011 a brand new state of the art Enviro 400 double decker will be operating on the X28 service between Machynlleth and Aberystwyth.

As a part of this new addition to the expanding fleet and services of Lloyds Coaches the existing X28 and X29 services will be rebranded Coastliner services.  The re branded X28 Coastliner and X29 Coastliner service will operate under the brand network name of the Cambrian Coastliner – Coast to Coast network.

Richard Jones the Company’s General Manager said:

“Our intention as a Company through the Cambrian Coastliner brand is to provide a high quality bus network in terms of reliability, punctuality, quality of vehicles and friendliness of our driving staff with affordable fares at a time when the cost of living and travel is dramatically increasing.  Our own operating costs have increased dramatically but we are not passing on this increase to our valued and loyal passengers.

Instead we are reinvesting in our own services in terms of our new Cambrian Coastliner branding and the introduction at the beginning of September 2011 of our brand new state of the art double decker vehicle.  This is a very significant and massive investment in Wales as a brand new double decker has not entered service in Wales in a very long time.

This proves our Company's long term commitment to our passengers and the area in terms of transport provision and the future sustainable growth of our locally based Company.

We have had good support from passengers since we introduced our X28 service initially back in June 2010 and I would like to thank each and every one of them for this.

We also have professional drivers who take pride in their work and who play a very important part of the team at Lloyds Coaches.  I would also like to take this opportunity to publicly thank our staff for all their valued efforts”

The new Enviro 400 double decker comes with 76 three point seat belted seats for the safety of our passengers together with a state of the art 11 multi camera CCTV digital system which includes a digital screen in the driver's cab for the driver to ensure the safety of all of our passengers.

This double decker will be our flag ship service vehicle on the Cambrian Coastliner network, being backed up by numerous modern easy access low floor vehicles.

We will also be introducing a brand new Enviro 200 single deck vehicle to the fleet with seat belts fitted to all seats & CCTV at the same time as our new double decker to be used on other quality services also operated by the Company as a part of its bus network.”
